Home buyers survey and valuation (HBSV)

This survey would be commissioned by you and would be appropriate in most cases, as it covers information on the general condition of the property, the value on the open market and any factors, which are likely to materially affect its value. This would also include an estimated reinstatement cost for insurance purposes.
It would be useful also, to benchmark the selling price of similiar properties in your area, for reference purposes.
